RELEASE: Velz's 'Overview' EP Premieres on Soundcloud
"Overview" is more than just a collection of tracks; it's a conceptual soundscape. The EP is inspired by the "Overview Effect," the profound cognitive shift in awareness reported by astronauts who have seen Earth from the unique perspective of outer space.
We are thrilled to announce the latest release from Velz, the new 5-track conceptual EP, "Overview."
The EP is available starting today, October 28th, for an exclusive first listen on Soundcloud via musiceps, the official record label of empowerplaystudios.
The full global release is scheduled for November 14th, when "Overview" will be available on all major streaming platforms.
"Overview" is more than just a collection of tracks; it's a conceptual soundscape. The EP is inspired by the "Overview Effect," the profound cognitive shift in awareness reported by astronauts who have seen Earth from the unique perspective of outer space. It's a journey that translates this powerful feeling—of awe, connection, and a sudden understanding of our place on a "pale blue dot"—into a cohesive electronic experience.
The EP's tracklist is a story in itself, guiding the listener from the familiar to the profound:
The journey begins on Earth with the soulful, syncopated grooves of "Ekhaya Rhythm" and "Syncopated Haze," where earthy amapiano rhythms root the listener.
From there, we launch into orbit. The driving, atmospheric pulse of instrumental house tracks "Orbital Path" and "Far Below" propels the narrative forward and upward.
The EP culminates in its powerful lyrical centerpiece, the two-part title track—"The Ascent" & "The Shift." This finale captures the story's emotional climax, a moment of profound realization and connection.
"Overview" is a beautifully crafted, cohesive listening experience that showcases Velz's skill in both production and storytelling. It’s music that makes you move, but more importantly, it’s music that makes you think.
